I took care of my elderly grandmother, for 7 years, from 1996-2002, who had dementia, diabetes, congestive heart failure, wheelchair bound, after hip surgery. She was a diabetic, so I tested her blood sugar, gave her insulin injections, assisted with hygiene care, dressing, changing diapers. I was an evening Social Coordinator, for people with Alzheimer's disease, for 1 year, in 1998. I was a camp counselor and Program Counselor, for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, the summers of 2009, 2013, and 2014. I was responsible for planning daily activities, assisted with feeding, assisted with daily hygiene; bathing, dressing, and feeding. I obtained a degree, in Therapeutic Recreation, with a minor, in Psychology, from Old Dominion University, May 2016. My passion and goal, in life, is to help people with disabilities, live a better life.
