About Heather

I began babysitting when I was in sixth grade I watched neighborhood children and my three nieces after school, during the summer and as needed. I have a lot of experience with children besides babysitting. I have my own child who will be 12 at the end of May. In high school, I worked at the day care center in my school & was a day camp counselor. In college, I volunteered as a mentor to an at-risk child, & worked at the preschool. My college degree was in human development & family relations with a concentration in childhood and adolescence. After college, I was a Big Sister with the Big Brother/Big Sister program. I was with my little sister from age 6-13. My first job out of college was working as a preschool teacher for three years, followed by 11 years of working as a special education paraprofessional in an elementary school. I have also been a tutor, both after school and during the summer, & I volunteered to teach church Sunday school for a couple of years.
