About Heather

I have longstanding experience with children of all ages. I began working with children by helping my neighbor, who ran an in home daycare, change diapers, get snacks, and entertain the other children. From there I worked at a local church daycare and babysat for various children in my town. While continuing my education and then relocating I never stopped working with infants and children, mostly referral babysitting opportunities. My most recent experience working with homeless youth has taught me a great deal. I had to be quick on my feet in crisis and attentive to wear each youth was and what activities they were involved in, no different then the unwavering eye you must keep on toddlers. I also learned sometimes the best therapy and crisis intervention will always be art, whether that means coloring, dancing or making sand castles.
