About Heather

I grew up in Alabama where I learned to work hard and respect my elders. I graduated as Valedictorian of both my high school and college classes. My masters degree is in Intercultural Studies. I have lived in Africa and Korea. I am a world traveler and a student of people. These life experiences have shaped who I am and given me insight into how I care for others. I began caregiving with HomeInstead Senior Care as a graduate student. Then, years later I returned to caregiving part-time while my children were in school. I have experience caring for clients with dementia, depression, and recovering from injuries. My nature is gentle but I know how to be firm. I desire to treat each individual with dignity. Their weaknesses are my opportunity to serve. I am humbled by the lessons my clients teach me as they share their hearts and lives with me. I am responsible and always up for a challenge, but mostly I seek to brighten their day and make their cares a little lighter.
