About Harriet

I started caring for children early in my life and have loved doing it ever since! I've been around growing children since my sister had her first baby in 2000. I began babysitting at 15, and the following year started working part-time at a YMCA for two years in the child care department. My second year of college, I got a work-study job at a modified Montessori daycare/pre-K focused on individual education and development for kids from 1-5. I loved my job and still work there, but now I am attending graduate school in Massachusetts and am looking to keep spending some time around kids. Over the years, I've come to realize how essential it is to support and promote physical and mental development in young children to start them with a strong foundation for a happy life.

Harriet is absolutely amazing! She has been a regular babysitter for our now 2yr 9mo year old for over a year and has recently helped care for our 3 month old. We all get excited on the days she comes over. She's always willing to help out in any way possible. Our son loves going on adventures with her, exploring new parks, playing at home in new ways, singing and listening to music, etc. She is calm and yet energetic at the same time. She's reliable, fun, trustworthy, creative, great at setting limits with our toddler when appropriate and yet redirecting him so not everything is "no". And I could go on and on... She's an absolute gem!
