It has been my joy and privilege to give dignified care and support to those with varying disabilities. I grew up with a brother who dealt with ADHD and this prepared me for nannying another child with ADHD and her baby sister for two years. I am fluent in ASL and have volunteered for over five years working with those who are deaf, deafblind, and others who benefit from communicating in sign, such as those with DS. I believe in promoting a positive and fun, focused environment. My payed work experience in caring for those with special needs is limited as most of my experience has been on a volunteer basis. However, I would like to offer my assistance to give care on a part time or as needed basis in hopes of giving families a break, a night off, or an extra hand.
