I first began tutoring when I was in 8th grade, teaching students at religious school until I graduated high school. In college, I interned with various programs working with and tutoring children, including a mentor position at the Prism Project Nola, assistant teaching in the Make Music Nola program, and interning at The Chartwell Center, a school for students with autism. I also worked at Capital Camps for 4 summers as an inclusion counselor/aide for a camper with cerebral palsy. I now teach 5th-6th grade special education in Baltimore City Public Schools. I teach all subjects (ELA, Math, Social Studies, Science). I use a hands-on approach and try to use as many interactive, fun learning activities as possible. I am used to making content accessible for children of all abilities, and using multiple modalities in order to present content. My students have a very wide range of level and ability, so I am experienced in differentiating and adapting to each child's needs.
