About Hannah

Prior to moving to Santa Barbara, I worked at an elderly residence in Chico, CA, designed for those with Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, Lewey Body, and Dementia. My position at this site was to be a "resident assistant", in which I performed several care tasks which included providing treatments, guidance with meals, toileting, showering, personal hygiene, laundry, cleaning, greeting visitors, physical therapy, and of course love, support, and care. My favorite parts about this job, were the interactions and life-long memories that I made with my residents. I grew very attached to many of them, and still find myself with them on my mind. My top values in geriatric care are to maintain mutual trust and respect with my residents, and to provide as much autonomy and independence as possible. Many elderly are not given the chance to have their own voice, yet still deserve to be heard. I like to that person to listen, and help them feel validated and loved.
