I started working with animals when I was in high school. I volunteered as a dog care volunteer at a local rescue, National Mill Dog Rescue. I dedicated over 100 volunteer hours where I fed, walked, cleaned and socialized with dogs on a weekly basis. I learned to care for and handle shy and fearful dogs as well. After my army career I worked as a vet assistant. As a vet assistant I helped the veterinarians during appointments and surgeries as well as handled pets. I grew up with a wide range of pets from horses and chickens to ferrets and cats and dogs.
