I have experience working with individuals with special needs, specifically those diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Autism. As a Personal Care Assistant for a young woman with Cerebral Palsy, I was responsible for evaluating needs based on behavior, collaborating with family and therapists to set and assess goals, assisting with physical therapy-based stretches, promoting dexterity through targeted activities, encouraging engagement, and maintaining detailed daily logs. My hands-on care included dressing, meal preparation and feeding, hygiene support, and transfers to and from the wheelchair. Additionally, I've supported my nephew, who was diagnosed with Autism in early childhood, by helping with behavior modification, social skills development, self-expression through structured activities, and fostering open communication.
