Relocating a year ago to the Las Vegas area I found myself looking back to my first jobs as a care giver for mentally and emotional disturbed or challenged individuals. And teaching 7 years for private special ed high school. I worked 2 years for Valley Village special needs group home care. I've done everything from morning routines for 6 residents: prepping 8 and adults. I taught for 7 years at a private school The Ofman Learning Center) for SED children with severe emotional problems stemming from abuse, behavior or legal problems as well as ADHD and slower developmentally challenged students. I pride myself in patience and bridging the missing links in their thought processes through repetition, consistency and positive reinforcements. And providing/mentally equipping these special individuals, with teaching tools, mechanisms to teach themselves.
