About Gillian

I'd describe my personality as approachable, determined, and kind. I like tutoring because as a teacher, I enjoyed helping my students in general, but I really thrived when I was able to help students one-on-one or in small-group settings. I was able to really get to know my students and use what I knew about them, in addition to what I know about how people learn, to help them succeed. I started tutoring when I was hired during the pandemic to assist a second-grade student with his school work. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my husband and other people I care about, read, listen to music, and, in general, I'm always striving to learn new things in my spare time! I recently learned how to play the ukulele which has been a lot of fun.
