About Gillian

Hi! My name is Gillian, and I'm a recent graduate offering personalized tutoring services in the Sykesville/Eldersburg, MD area. I specialize in helping students "learn how to learn," equipping them with the tools they need to succeed independently rather than relying on memorization or short-term fixes. I am a certified instructor of English as a Second Language and have a variety of tutoring experience, including teaching Arabic at the University of Maryland. I'm more than excited to help in achieving you or your child's learning goals and ensure academic success! I started tutoring when I was a student at Century High School. I helped my peers in science and math and later worked with students with academic difficulties. Every student is different and learns at their own pace. My experience has taught me to meet students where they are while still encouraging them to challenge themselves. In my spare time, I like to learn languages, read, watch TV, and skateboard!
