I befriended a kid in middle school who was on the spectrum & in special needs classes. Throughout the course of our friendship I got to meet his teachers and classmates. Through these connections I ended up volunteering in the special needs classrooms when I was in high school. I would come in and act as another classroom aid to provide support to the teacher & keep the students engaged! I really enjoyed connecting with these students, they had the biggest hearts! Fun Fact: I went to the local special needs prom in 2018! I enjoy working with people with special needs because I feel that I relate to them on a deep level. I like making people feel seen & understood. I was a pediatric dental assistant at Eastman dental for a year as well. During this time I gained a lot of experience on how to make kiddos with special needs feel safe and heard in a clinical setting. Providing care to someone with special needs is something that I have a strong passion for!
