I grew up the daughter of a childcare specialist, so working with kids has been second nature to me since I was a kid myself. I have a degree in Developmental Psychology, and currently work in a research position at the University of Chicago where I work directly with kids everyday. My life values as well as extensive (10+ years) experience with children of many ages and from many diverse backgrounds have shaped my approach to childcare-centering play, leading with curiosity, reciprocal respect, cultural competency, and keeping children engaged with age appropriate activities, games, and structure. I am a confident, calming presence for children in my care, and take pride in my ability to adapt my style to the needs and values of each family.

Gemma is hands down the most incredible childcare provider our family ever had. To this day my two daughters speak about the time she was their babysitter. Gemma is intelligent, trustworthy, creative, honest, has healthy boundaries, is punctual, neat, kind and funny!
