About Gayle

Gayle is a certified Barton tutor. She has a driving passion to teach dyslexic learners, empowering them to overcome their fears and thrive the way they were meant to. Upon finishing a busy era of home educating her own children, after the fact, she realized at least two of her children had dyslexia. During that time, dyslexia was misunderstood and not well supported. Attending an introductory Susan Barton seminar explaining dyslexia left her on the edge of her seat with a new mission in life. She began as a volunteer tutor at a public charter school in San Jose, working with dyslexic students using an Orton-Gillingham based intervention. For the past 10 years, she has worked as a Barton tutor, helping children from ages 6 to 19 overcome dyslexia. To take a student from fearful hesitation to increasing confidence to discover the joy of reading is incredibly rewarding and borders on the miraculous. Gayle's goal is to help as many dyslexic learners of all ages as possible.
