About Gabrielle

Hello, my name is Gabrielle and I am pleased that you are reading my profile. My resume and references are available upon request. I have had extensive experience in working with children which includes being a part-time and full-time nanny, teacher, camp counselor, and daycare worker. These job experiences have enriched my career and my life. I am originally from Massachusetts and came here to South Florida (Boca Raton) in 1993 to begin a position as a live-in nanny for a family with three children ages six months, three, and five. I had also just graduated from Franklin Pierce College with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. In addition to childcare duties, I was also responsible for cooking, shopping, laundry, errands, and assisting with schoolwork. I also created and implemented a behavior management system that was very effective with the children, and traveled with the family as needed. Being the young age of 23 at the time, I was impressed with my job abilities as were my employers. I also stay in touch with the family to this day. In my experience as a teacher, I learned how to manage my time effectively, how to teach students with all different types of academic needs, and how to communicate with parents in a productive and professional way. When I was a camp counselor, I actually was responsible for the nature class and became the Nature Instructor at Pine Tree Summer Camp. I created a unit with mainly science activities, but had other subjects in there as well dealing with nature and animals. I supplied animals for the campers to interact with, and we also observed the process of metamorphosis, and discussed the importance of taking care of the environment. I am energetic, loyal, dependable, and kind. In my personal life, I am organized and task driven, and I believe I can bring these qualities into any job as well. In conclusion, I am CPR/First Aid certified, a non-smoker, and I have a car.
