About Francoise

I grew up with my grandparents in Haiti. Always experienced care, safety, and unconditional love from my grandparents. When we all moved to the US in the early nineties, my grandparents became ill. My mother and father worked all day I found myself in the role of caregiver. Before and after school I would feed, bathe and assist both my grandparents with daily hygiene. Would accompany them to doctor appointments and remind them to take prescribed medications. During this time as a young person, I came to the realization that caring for my grandparents never felt like work. This work was fulfilling and rewarding. I was returning in small measure what I received as a child from my grandparents. Later after having my own family found myself in the role of a childcare worker which I have been for over 15 years now. My recent experience has come as a caregiver for my late mother-in-law for three years. Cared for her daily physical needs Chemo app as she battled through bladder cancer.
