I have been in the special needs care giving field since 2009, where I have participated in assisting autism organizations in an advising/consulting role as well as assisting with care giving during play dates as a form of respite care. I have also assisted with in-home respite care for disabled adults for close to a year. I am a firm believer in presuming competence and want to serve to assist the individual in improving their quality of life by whatever means are available. I have a close connection with autism in particular, but want to assist those with any form of disability or special needs in whatever capacity I am able and they are willing to have me in. I also have a sliding scale especially for clients who hire their own caregivers.
