I'd describe my personality as nurturing and honest. In my spare time I like to read and write. I'm a published children's book author. I love caring for seniors and people with debilitating or degenerative illnesses in particular because it affords me the opportunity to engage in what comes most naturally to me. I'm looking for a challenging case, one which will make the best use of my existing skills and experience to further my professional development in the healthcare field. I started caring for seniors unofficially when my grandma fell ill when I was a teenager. I would monitor her health and any signs of regression in her health. And I would assist with her hygienic care and her mobility amongst other things. I started caring for seniors professionally over 10 years ago. My skills include being a good communicator, hygiene/perineal care and transfers such as hoyer lift, wheel chair transfer, bed transfers, bedside commode transfers, board transfers and pivot transfers.
