About Esme

For many years I have helped my mother care for elderly people of varying ages and abilities, as well as mental and physical conditions. I have experience in mobility and physical care. I am experienced in interacting with people who live with dementia, memory loss, and confusion. I am able to work safely with people who can become violent. I am passionate about caring for all ages and abilities and for different people's varying needs. For three years I was a personal caregiver for an adult woman with Mitochondrial disease. She had medical, emotional and physical needs, including seizures, instability, impaired vision, anxiety, loss of memory. I managed her daily prescription medication schedule and ensured her daily living activity needs were met. This included assisting her with household affairs: cleaning, laundry, cooking, paying bills, writing letters/emails, and helping her walk safely around the house, or with her wheelchair/walker; including to the bathroom for showers/toilet.
