About Esmeralda

I am a first-year student at the University of California, San Diego majoring in Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Psychology. I have always had a passion for working with children. Last summer I tutored homeless children through School on Wheels, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles. I have also worked with PK-5th-grade students struggling academically, as well as with students whose first language is Spanish and are learning English as a Second Language. I have been a mentor at Partners for Learning at UCSD where I worked with underserved 5th-grade students at King Chavez Athletics Academy. I am currently a Teacher Assistant for EDS 130 where I support the professor by leading and mentoring college students enrolled in EDS 130. I have experience babysitting children as young as 3 years old all the way to teenagers. I have babysat my younger brother, cousins, and children of family friends for over five years.
