Experience: 10 yrs
I am an experienced teacher with two current California credentials, in Multiple-Subjects (Elementary School, K-8) and Special Education (k-12). I specialize in helping children with dyslexia learn to read and write with ease. I have 20+ years of experience in working with children of all ages and in many capacities, including traditional school settings. I teach through art, games, word-play, meta-cognition and direct instruction. I believe people learn best through social interaction, modeling, play and work. I am interested in knowing my students and helping them based on their talents and needs. Gentle learning makes happy life-long learners!

Erin is a heaven sent! She's been working with my two boys for the past two years now (including throughout the pandemic, almost daily) and i will hold on to her for life. My younger son has severe dyslexia and my older one dysgraphia, both coupled with severe ADHD. Teaching them, especially the little one, is extremely challenging and requires a combination of extreme patience, deep understanding of how dyslexia impacts their ability to read/write and a good tool set and strategies to help them. Erin has all these and more. She loves the boys and the boys love her. She manages to get them to work in a kind, loving way, knows when to push and when to back off. She makes learning a game and gets my little one excited about learning. If a strategy looses potency, she quickly pulls a new approach out of her sleeve. Erin is super reliable and dependable, calls if she is ever late (very rare) and takes time to connect with her students. I can't praise her enough.
