I currently work as a licensed teacher at a school for individuals with autism spectrum disorder and various other intellectual and developmental disabilities where we utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). I worked as an intern and teaching assistant for my first year at this school and have been a lead teacher for the past two years. I was a PCA while in college for an individual with cerebral palsy, and volunteered for the Special Olympics Young Athletes Program. I also volunteered with Mustard Seeds Communities in Nicaragua and spent time with individuals with various disabilities who had been abandoned. My teaching philosophy revolves largely around creating equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of their ability level and including all individuals in every aspect of life. We all have one life and it is imperative that we all have the opportunity to live it equally.
