About Erica

I've been described as naturally maternal, warm, and full of light. My admiration and care for children started in 2007 when I was offered a job supervising children who were too young for Sunday School (ages infants-5 years old) at a church in Riverdale in the Bronx. Through my time there I made connections with the families that attended the services and started babysitting for them outside of work as well. I left that job in 2016, eventually went on to teach art to sixth graders in Brooklyn, and later became an Assistant Preschool Teacher (ages 2-4). Through my experience over the years with such a variety of ages, I've developed so many important useful skills. Assisting in maintaining a safe and clean environment for children, providing constant supervision, thorough assistance with diapering and toileting, modeling appropriate, positive behavior and language for children, and bringing fun and creativity into our activities and time together, fueled by my background in the arts.
