I have worked with special needs children for quite some time now within the school districts in Georgia. I have provided childcare extensively for children on the spectrum. In addition, I have patiently and safely dealt with children diagnosed with disorders such as Oppositional Defiant Disorder(ODD) and Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED) and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I am passionate about this sort of work because I grew up in a house with a brother suffering from various disorders. As I started my college education and career I decided that youth development and counseling were my callings. I plan to open a private practice in the next few years to counsel children, adolescents and families working through the hardships that having children with specials can present.
