I have worked for a non-profit organization providing respite care for families of children with special needs. I worked there for just shy of two years and the majority of their youth were on the autism spectrum, however some had down's syndrome, Angelman's syndrome, and cerebral palsy. I have also worked in a public school for three school years as a special ed paraprofessional. In addition, I have been a part of three autistic children's Son-Rise programs. Two of those situations were paid and one was as a volunteer. The program is an innovative, one on one program for children on the spectrum. I have also worked in the childcare industry as a teacher, an assistant director, and a director.
