I am part of an organization called Best Buddies. There is a chapter at Eastern Michigan University and one-to-one friendships are created between college students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I have been part of this organization for a year and about to start a leadership position. I have worked with people who have a wide range of disabilities, so I have a lot of experience. I love Best Buddies and everything it does for people with IDD and I have actually made some of my best friends through my local chapter. I see people with disabilities just like anyone else, because that is exactly who they are.
