I currently work as a CNA at a long term health care facility. My duties are to assist the patients with their activities of daily living (ADL's) such as; getting them dressed for the morning, grooming, incontinence care ( if needed), bathing/showering, oral care and assisting those who aren't able to feed themselves. Providing simple housekeeping duties. Also, if the patient has a doctor's appointment, I would escort them to their appointment. Working with the elderly is new to me but I enjoy helping them because they aren't able to help themselves. They are a joy to be around. Its important to help others and give back to the community. I decided to start as a nurses assistant because its a stepping tool to becoming a Registered Nurse. I love to help people.
