I have been a caregiver for almost 5 years, I've worked with clients/residents between the ages of 20-98. I have experience with Alzheimers, Dementia, memory care, cerebral palsy, and more. I've worked in private homes and in retirement group homes. My goal when I work with a client is to make them feel safe and loved. I remind myself frequently, that I'm stepping into someone's life, not another job. My hope is to help them feel like they still have control of thier life. Either if it's they way pictures are positioned, or what they do on thier schedule. It's not about me, it's about them. And they deserve it.
