About Emily

Hi there! My name is Emily (Emmy if you'd like!). I am one of three sisters, and have happily become "Tia Emmy" to my lovely nieces! Hi there! I am currently a graduate student at the Maine College of Art and Design pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming an art teacher! Before teaching, I had been nannying on and off for the last 10 years, and had a long term position with a family for two years before graduate school. I have experience with children from infants to teenagers and I absolutely adore working with kids of all ages! I always foster creativity, curiosity and kindness in the children in my care. I work to never patronize children, I believe in encouraging children to feel their big feelings, and to learn how to communicate their needs. I always encourage and support them learning their autonomy and agency within the world. My goal in caring for kids is to help them grow bu providing a safe, creative and explorative environment for them :)
