About Emily

I'm a nanny with over 15 years experience. My approach to care is typically aligned with "gentle parenting", not to be mistaken with permissive. I like to work with parents to learn how they discipline and structure time, and appreciate open communication. While I've worked in childcare full-time for the last 4 years, I didn't originally arrive in childcare as my profession. I have a degree in textile and fashion design, which means I am confident in all arts and crafts. With the kids I've cared for, we've made an elaborate Kitty Mailbox (insert current animal/character obsession), sewn pillows for both humans and dolls alike, and my personal favorite: a hand drawn deck of Go Fish cards after losing the original deck many times. I love to find creative solutions and teach kids that they can make things themselves! I am happy to help around the house, with errands, and I have experience as a household manager.
