I have a somewhat unique childcare style. I love to be one of the kids. I find this to be more successful when trying to accomplish tasks simply because it keeps the children's attention. I am hands-on and get involved with the kids as much as possible. For playtime, I will always have new games and activities making sure the kids are engaged. I try to make sure that each activity results in some benefit towards the children. Although playtime is fun, it is important to me that I maintain a boundary so that the kids know that I am still the one in charge. For discipline, time-outs and the counting method are what I typically use. When a child is upset or distressed, I make sure to acknowledge it immediately while still addressing the other children. I have babysat since the age of 12 when I took a class in order to become a certified babysitter. I taught swim lessons during my high school years and worked with children from 6 months to 15 years old. My experience is extensive and I have been told that I do a wonderful job. I am CPR, AED, first-aid, Heimlich and water-rescue certified. I prefer to cook healthy, well-balanced meals. I am respectful of the parents' wishes and their homes. Nannying is something that I truly enjoy, so the rest just comes easily.
