About Emily

If it weren't for Emily we would not have been able to enjoy the last year of my father's life with him. I knew she was the right person to care for him as soon as we met. She spoke to him like he was the one interviewing her (instead of me), which showed to me that she was interested in what he thought. A few weeks in, they were bantering and enjoying each other's company as if they had known each other for years. Not only did she get to know him as a person, she cared for him as if he were her family. She came into our home 5-6 days per week for the last year and became part of our family too. We relied upon her to provide insight into dad's care and health issues, she even worked closely with the Hospice nurse when it came time. On a day to day basis, Emily went above and beyond in my opinion. She kept him and his surroundings very clean and she worked with the physical and speech therapists so that they could keep him moving as much as possible. When the weather was nice she always encouraged him to go outside, and took him for car rides and out to lunch. Even though he was unable to walk for himself, she is strong enough to help him get anywhere they went. In the end, Emily was by his side making his last days as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I can't imagine how hard this past year would have been without Emily.
