About Emily

Hello! My name is Emily and I am currently in my 6th year teaching 2nd grade. I have a Masters degree in elementary education from James Madison University and in May 2025, I will finish a reading specialist graduate program through Longwood University. I love teaching reading and math and tying in games whenever possible! I would love the opportunity to work with your child to keep their skills moving forward. I love tutoring because I love seeing children make connections and growth. Tutoring allows me to create custom learning goals for the students I work with. I also love using assessment data to identify and target learning gaps. My skills include using assessment data to identify gaps in learning, incorporating games and hands-on activities, and building relationships with the students I work with. I especially love tutoring reading and math skills covered in grades K-3.
