About Emily

Hi! I'm Emily, I am an 8th grade Science teacher in Philadelphia, and graduate student at Johns Hopkins University pursuing a degree in Digital Age Learning and Educational Technology. I graduated from the University of Maryland in May 2022, where I earned my bachelors degree in Middle School (grades 4-9) Math and Science Education. I am passionate about teaching and believe that each and every student deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed. I have passed my math and science praxis tests, meaning I am certified and well versed in most math and science subjects. I also have plenty of tutoring experience students of all ages and grade levels, both in person and virtually. My preferred teaching approach is very hands on and student lead. I also try to differentiate instruction depending on the student and I am always open to trying new things. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting/crafting, watching tv, and doing yoga!
