When my grandfather turned 90 and moved in with my parents and I met the home care aid that assisted him, I was drawn to the compassion and tenderness that she showed a complete stranger that needed her help and companionship. I quit my job in health insurance and moved to senior care. I worked in-home with dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and seniors that just needed a little help around the house. I also worked with seniors in retirement facilities as an activities assistant and in senior centers as program coordinator and assistant. I miss the wisdom and the personality of the senior generation. I believe everyone should be around other generations, we can all learn from each other.
