I am an animal lover- of all kinds with a life-long experience in caring for animals. I have worked multiple years in a pet store and also volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center to care for the injured and sick. I, myself, have 2 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats, 2 rats (they are smart and make excellent pets :)), and a 50 gallon aquarium with Oscars. I am familiar working with most animals- wildlife included, and I enjoy even the ones not typically deemed lovable, such as spiders and snakes. I am great with 'difficult' animals that may have problems trusting a stranger, as I am patient, calm, and nurturing. I have never been afraid of an animal, and I do not believe in forcing an animal that feels threatened unless it is absolutely necessary to protect their immediate safety or the safety of others. I have an incredible ability to calm, and have never been bitten by an animal that wasn't in distress. I do not believe it is ever necessary to physically discipline animals- I am a firm proponent of establishing gradual trust and a consistent routine to create an environment where an animal feels safe. I would love the opportunity to care for your animals on a temporary or full-time basis (while you're at work) and am flexible with scheduling. While I prefer not to stay overnight, I am willing to negotiate on a case-by-case basis. I am available to feed, water, exercise, and medicate animals as needed. My only requirement is that care guidelines be clearly defined for each animal and emergency contact information provided. I am also willing to collect mail/ newspapers, water plants, etc for no additional cost. Thank you.
