About Emily

Hello! My name is Emily and I'm a sophomore at UVM. My majors are elementary education and environmental studies. With both a mother and sister as preschool teachers, I grew up learning about the world of childcare, and since I was old enough to, have been passionately participating in childcare work throughout my communities. From a year of experience as a hands on intern in a special ed. classroom, I learned how to aid children with different needs and gained excellent communication skills. After two full summers as a live-in camp counselor, I am capable of fostering environments and creating activities that ensure safety and promote growth. Volunteering for three years at Hertz Nursery School built my early childhood development knowledge and skills. Four years of private childcare work has given me life long relationships, values, and understandings. With utmost earnestness, I hope to meet you and your family!
