About Emily

Hi! My name is Emily and I am in my third year of nursing school at UVA. I have over 5 years of experience in childcare, and last semester completed 85 hours of hands on care at UVA's Pediatric Hospital. With five years of experience, I've learned that patience and kindness are key to building strong relationships with children. I believe in open communication with parents and follow their preferred method to discuss their child's day or any concerns. When it comes to enforcing household rules, I take my cues from the parents to ensure consistency for the child. This past summer I was a live in nanny, and feel extremely comfortable with other families household dynamics. I am CPR-trained, and have experience caring for diabetic and special needs children. While I'm happy to assist with household responsibilities, my ultimate goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where your children feels comfortable and happy.
