About Emily

I am a current Lead Infant Teacher at a daycare center. Before I became the lead teacher, I worked in and out of preschool and toddler rooms. As a part of my position, I develop and teach lesson plans that incorporate all areas of development and provide a nurturing environment to aide in the development of young children. Most of my previous experience has been working with children. I worked at Congdon Elementary School as a Youth Specialist through the Y. M. C. A during my undergraduate career. This job has required me to handle situations regarding safety of others and one's personal well-being. The most beneficial thing I've done through this job is helping children with academics. I also completed an internship at the UMD Children's Place, working in their toddler room. I have a strong belief in the power of unstructured outdoor free play. The environment and exploration of it is the best way for a young mind to learn!
