Hello there! Thanks for stopping by! I've been a babysitter and nanny for many children over the past 10+ years, and my recent focus has been with infants and toddlers. I have also taken many child development/ECE courses, including a newborn care specialist course. I specialize in twins and nanny shares, but I have singleton experience too! I am passionate about using sign language and giving little ones the tools for expressing their needs before they can verbally speak (and even beyond!). I use gentle techniques when working with toddlers, and I believe strongly in validation, communication, and allowing for freedom within limits. I work best when I am able to take initiative, and I am able to find a balance between functioning independently and working together with parents to maintain cohesion and consistency in a nurturing environment. Emily has cared for my twins 20-27 hours per week since they were six weeks old. They are now 7 months, and we would love for her to continue if we were not moving out of state. The babies were born at 34 weeks, which made looking after them particularly challenging, but under her care they are thriving. Emily is responsible, loving, and knowledgeable, frequently researching topics related to their care. Bonus: she must know at least 100 nursery songs by heart and has a beautiful singing voice! Her confidence with my twins has helped me feel less anxious as I settle in to being a new mother. Emily has been very conscientious about Covid prevention. Currently Emily is taking an on-line newborn care specialist course to enhance her skills. I heartily recommend her.
