About Emily

Hi friends! I currently work 2 days a week at a beloved preschool in northeast Portland. With 10 plus years experience caring for children I am looking now to offer part time help to a local family. My unique skillset revolves around helping children navigate their emotional responses and subsequent behaviors. Building resilience and thoughtfulness into their unique personality schema is important to me! What does that look like? Consistent management of my own emotions. Safe language and boundaries around our body privacy as well as how we handle big emotions safely. Direct, respectful communication without using shame, while still providing No's. And finally, prioritizing interpersonal play, building motor confidence, and instilling a massive value for reading and exploring, with assertiveness and honesty.
