Emilie supported my 8 year old son (and our family) with remote learning during covid-19. During the ever-changing and chaotic school year, she was flexible and accommodating. Emilie brought a patient, kind and calm energy that was so welcome in our house! My son was resistant to her help, because he (like many kids) did not want to do schoolwork. He tends to be short-tempered and get frustrated easily. Despite these difficulties, Emilie was gentle and persistent and found ways to connect with him. She proactively raised issues for us to discuss, so that we could be consistent and united for my son (e.g., when does homework need to completed). Emilie suggested that we discuss sticking points as a team, including my son, make "agreements" between us, rather than "rules" - just one small example of her thoughtful and sensitive approach. Emilie was so helpful, and enabled me to keep my job and my sanity during a very challenging time.
