During the academic year, I am a special education paraprofessional at a local high school. I work in a setting 3 developmental and cognitive delay classroom with a wide variety of disabilities, including (but not limited to!) down syndrome, cerebral palsy, chromosomal/genetic disorders, hearing impairments, visual impairments, and more!! I am going to school to be a speech-language pathologist, and am very familiar with AAC, speech delays, processing times, etc. I am a small woman and cannot lift people by myself, but with help I am able to transfer in and out of wheelchairs, from the ground onto different surfaces, assist in seating, etc. I am trained in g-tube feedings, seizure intervention, and medication administration. I plan on receiving training on insulin monitoring and administration, and blood sugar testing. I am comfortable with changing briefs as well
