About Elsie

I have just completed my degree in neuroscience, and now have a gap of several months before I will begin work in consulting. I enjoy hiking, gardening, cooking, and reading. I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail back to back, which instilled in me a deep love for nature, meditation, reflection, and solidarity for the people and environment around us. I have worked with children for most of my life as the oldest of 5 siblings. I spent 2 years traveling around the world and working with children as well, including living / working at an orphanage for 4 months. I have also coached children aged 5-12 in both swimming and sailing. I believe strongly in the importance of instilling values and thoughtfulness in children. Having studied neuroscience, I understand the profound importance of early childhood education. I truly believe the core of everything is parenting and good mentorship for children. Kindness, respect, accountability, and honesty are key.
