As a dedicated public school teacher with over 13 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with children and adolescents of varying abilities. Specifically, I have supported neurodivergent students who fall within the mid to high functioning range of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). My multifaceted role involves assisting students with homework, enhancing their reading comprehension and writing skills, and even incorporating playful Spanish lessons. I am well-versed in implementing the 'nurtured heart approach' and mindfulness strategies, which foster emotional regulation, social skill development, and overall growth. As a caregiver, I pride myself on being loving, responsive, and patient, with a knack for creative problem-solving. Additionally, I maintain a clean criminal and driving record, and I am comfortable around dogs, cats, birds, and even bearded dragons.
