I have a BA in American Sign Language Interpreting from Georgia State University. This program was part of the College of Education and focused on ASL in educational settings with children. I have four years of payed experience in childcare and for the past two years I have worked at the Georgia School for the Deaf. I am a Residential Assistant in the school dorms. My responsibilities include picking the children up from school, taking them to dinner, playing with them during free time, doing their laundry, tutoring during study hall, helping them take showers, helping them brush their teeth, and tucking them into bed. I currently work with elementary and middle school boys but tutor for grades 5-12. At the school, all the students are either Deaf or Hard of Hearing and use ASL and their main form of communication. My passion is to assist parents in learning ASL and communicating with their Deaf and Hard of Hearing children. Language is key to childhood development.
