I started in health care about 15 years ago and 9 years of that I have spent in nursing homes. I got my CNA certification and then a year later became certified as a CMT. I also got my insulin certification. I have kept up on my CPR registration as well. I have taken care of people in their best of times and worst of times. I have taken care of people when they were dying and after they died. I assisted in everyday life tasks with people and also have passed medications and done minor treatments. I can redress wounds, clean and change colostomy bags, clean catheter bags, change out o2 tubing and bottles, I can also tube feed and use any lift used to assist an individual.... such as a Hoyer lift, sit to stand lift, ceiling lifts and even car lifts for transporting. Everyday life tasks may be as simple as brushing someone's teeth or as major as providing 100 percent care with showers, dressing, changing briefs, ECT.
