I find joy helping foster a love of reading, art, music and nature through self exploration and child driven, place based, learning. I am kind, fair, responsible, firm when needed, consistent, reliable and a master at singing silly songs while pretending to be an elephant. I am an excellent cook, love to be in the kitchen, and have extensive household management experience. I am a person who sees what needs to be done and does it without the need for hand-holding. Available for 2-3 (consecutive) days a week in Bellingham/Skagit. I have experience with all ages, but the littles are my jam. Ellen is truly wonderful with children. She is a nanny for a friend's two boys and helps occasionally with our 4-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son. She is kind, gentle, fun, attentive, and very natural with children. She also has an almost magical ability to get children to listen to her. She took care of my son when he was an infant and picked up on the nuances of his naps and feedings right away. My daughter, who is very shy and doesn't warm up to babysitters easily, adores Ellen and is always excited to see her. Ellen is also a total professional. She's always punctual -- usually early -- great at communicating with my husband and me, totally reliable, and hard working. The house is always tidy and everybody is happy and calm when we get home. I've interacted with many babysitters and nannies for my family as well as many other families, and Ellen is among the very, very best.
